In 2015, Srinivas Adepu’s friend Tarun injured his leg while playing volleyball in their college campus at Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi. Here’s how a friend’s injury pushed a former IITian and his friends to design crutches that can be used on all terrains, including snow and wet surfaces.

“They were courageous enough to ask me all sorts of personal questions. This kind of openness in their generation, and in India in general, is extremely rare and I was fortunate enough to have it.”

Inspired by his father, an IPS officer, Ishan began his preparations for UPSC in the final year of his engineering. He began preparing in June 2013 and secured rank 144 in his first attempt.

Nanoclean was awarded the National Startups Award by former President Pranab Mukherjee in 2017, recognised among the top 25 technical startups from over 118 countries by the Republic of Korea and selected among Top 100 Startups in the World by the Hong Kong government, making it the only Indian startup to achieve this feat.

While the preparation progresses smoothly, Sonalika suggests changing the strategy three months before the prelims—applying the factual aspects of the basic subjects and revising current affairs. She shares how time seemed to fly for her after the prelims.

“The public perception that one requires many years of preparation to clear the examination has been proved wrong in our case. If we can do it, I can confidently say, so can you,” says Pankaj.
