Poor human development, acute infrastructural shortages, lawlessness - these were the challenges facing #IAS officer Keerthi Jalli when she took charge in Jan 2019. Less than a year later, she has scripted a remarkable turnaround! #Governance

“I have always sought to develop quality infrastructure which would allow students of government schools to compete with their private counterparts," says the officer who himself sends his daughter to a govt. school.

“We were four siblings and making ends meet with my father’s salary was not at all easy. I studied in a school that was around 15 km away from my home and travelled everyday by various modes; which included walking.”

“Civil Services is not the result of a day or two, it's a process and it gives results with the process.”

Many IITians wear the tag of game-changers and changemakers who take a different path to pursue their passion.

“One of the mistakes I made was in essay preparation, or rather the lack of preparation. While I did attempt essays before the examination, I did not join any test series for it specifically.”

Ram Singh is often accompanied by wife who wears a baby carrier, while Ram Singh carries 'Kokcheng' (a local bamboo basket) to carry the produce.

In his third attempt, he not only clinched an All India Rank of 15 but also managed to get the highest marks (206 out of 275) in the interview.
