Literally going the extra mile to perform his duty, #IAS officer Ram Singh walked and rowed his way into inaccessible villages of the flooded #Meghalaya district to ensure the safety of villagers as well as livestock!

“I would sneak out from the orphanage and travel some 30-40 kilometres to Kannur. Here getting jobs in hotels and restaurants was easy for a young boy like me,” says the IAS officer who also worked in STD booths and as a delivery boy.

"Khushi has been living in jail for five years, since the time her father was convicted. Her mother had passed away due to jaundice when she was just 15 days old", says the district collector, who is now trying to help 17 other kids living in Bilaspur Central Jail.

Inspired by his father, an IPS officer, Ishan began his preparations for UPSC in the final year of his engineering. He began preparing in June 2013 and secured rank 144 in his first attempt.
