I CAN Awards

These kids designed a wooden vehicle to make it easier for matrons to serve them mid-day meals. The project was selected among the top 20 stories of change at the ‘I CAN Awards 2017’ organised by Design for Change.

To inculcate traffic rules right from childhood, these 13-year-olds have launched an Online Traffic Awareness Exam on www.mybicyclelicense.com for school-going kids. On passing the test, kids get a Bicycle License. The project was shortlisted for the ‘I CAN Awards 2017’ organised by Design for Change.

Disturbed that fishermen die at sea every day because they cannot afford safety gear, these boys from a government school in Tamil Nadu designed a cost-efficient life jacket out of waste plastic bottles. The project won the ‘Boldest Idea’ award at the ‘I CAN Awards 2014’ organised by Design for Change.

To help homeless people who sleep on the roads, students in Bhuj made beds using waste gunny bags stuffed with softened paper and cloth. The project won the ‘Quick Impact’ award at the ‘I CAN Awards 2016’ organised by Design for Change.

Students at St. Kabir’s Residential and Day School, Haryana, designed a plough to ease the burden of the school gardener, who took a lot of time to plough the garden, time that he could otherwise spend in studying or pursuing other jobs. The project was selected amongst the Top 20 stories at the ‘I CAN Awards 2012’ organised by Design for Change.
