Crossing deep rivers, dense forests and braving various obstacles like wild animals and unpredictable weather conditions, Sivan travelled on foot along the Nilgiri Mountain Railway track, to deliver mail and pension to plantation workers and villagers.

“Try and stay focussed only on the prelims at this point. While it may be very tempting to pick up and study your optional subject as well, do not do that," says IAS Officer Naveen Kumar Chandra.

“In these difficult times, people should preserve humanity. If you are eating out of a gold plate and they are dying of hunger, how is that fair?”

Having encountered several dangerous fires throughout his career, Shukla informed the media personnel gathered outside Anaj Mandi that this was perhaps the deadliest of them all.

“What motivated me to begin this organisation was the widespread lack of understanding about basic concepts like personal hygiene and first aid responses amongst villagers. To improve the situation, I started Shri Sahayataa which provided villagers with a personalised primary healthcare kit and education about the essential concepts such as first aid and hygiene etc,” shares Rohan.

“We met several contractors and finally found one who said that the project could be completed in Rs 1.76 lakhs. We also got volunteer engineers on-board to help us out.”
