From making flags out of recycled paper to replacing plastic with steel bottles, Kerala is blazing a green trail in India’s largest exercise in democracy!

The facilitators of this objective are Suchitwa Mission and Haritha Keralam Mission.

The initiative aims to encourage more citizens to not just invest in organic farming, but more importantly, consume fresh, homegrown, and pesticide-free produces.

Nurseries under Thiruvananthapuram Social Forestry Division have been delegated the responsibility of cultivating 80 lakh seedlings.

It all began when Abbas Ali took charge of Ambalavayal police station as its new Sub-Inspector (SI) and came across the fallow plot of land.

Focusing on primary sectors like waste management, energy efficiency and environmental conservation, the concerned authorities managed to accomplish their envisioned objectives in three months.

Falling in line with the statewide Haritha Keralam Mission, the project divides plots of fallow lands between groups ready to embody the responsibility of cultivation.
