Suchita Ullas, an erstwhile PR professional based in Bengaluru, took to soap making after her retirement and now runs a successful venture out of her home called Suchi’s Handmade Skincare Products.
With the vision to empower the rural communities in India, the couple started the NEEV trust (New Education and Environmental Vision) in 2006 in a village in Jharkhand.
After six months of training, when the couple sold the soaps made by the women to their friends and family, they were mindblown at the feedback. Thus NEEV Herbal Handmade Soaps became the couple’s entrepreneurial venture.
"I was always conscious about buying natural products, even for myself. When I had two kids to take care of, there was absolutely no way I would compromise on that. All this came together in a perfect symphony to help me start Mist & Dew."
"Instead of buying expensive products, I would, for example, use oranges for clients who had a lack of Vitamin C. All my clients would be thrilled at my home-made packs and I was satisfied with the knowledge that I wasn’t cheating them."
"We started barely four months ago and already hundreds of village women have come on-board by now. From pots, diyas, agarbattis to even mobile phone stands and keychains, all these brilliant cow dung-based products are their brainchild."
