First Indian in Space

"I cannot believe that a man, who has been to space and has been honoured by both the Russian and Indian governments, sat with me for 45 minutes. I am truly blessed."

This is the lesser known story of Air Commodore (Retd) Ravish Malhotra, recipient of the Kirti Chakra. The man who almost became the first Indian in space.

Till his last days, he served as the Chairman of the governing council of the Physical Research Laboratory in Ahmedabad and the Chancellor of the Indian Institute of Science and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram.
