S Devaki decided to utilise the spare time she had during the lockdown to recreate beautiful scenes from Indian mythological tales using old Barbie dolls.

Move over, Barbie. A 78-year-old woman entrepreneur from Gujarat, Ranjanben Bhat makes stunning hand-crafted dolls from cloth that are inspired from India's diverse culture.

Started as a lockdown project to help the women members of a local self help group in Kodaikanal, Smriti Lamech and her teams makes rag dolls that honour feminist icons like Kalpana Chawla, Savitribai Phule, Frida Kahlo and more.
