At 28, Devika is an international para-athlete, an advocate for people with disabilities on national and global platforms, a recipient of the prestigious Queen’s Young Leader Award 2015 and the co-founder of Wheeling Happiness, an organisation which is impacting thousands.
“We were shocked to realise that even well-educated visually-challenged adults would not have a clear idea of maps - we wanted to go a step higher than that."
“I have modified everything from a Nano to a Mercedes. The car doesn’t matter to me — what matters is the person driving it,” says the National Award winner, Rajesh Sharma.
We are celebrating his success because he achieved it after numerous struggles since his early years. When he was in school, he was diagnosed with dyslexia, which brought its own share of troubles.
"The sheer joy I saw in the eyes of these people who could move around again filled me with a deep sense of happiness and pride. Many of them had lost both their legs. Some children at the camp without certain limbs were younger than 10 years of age."
Accenture supports TRRAIN’S PANKH project which aims to train people with disabilities and provide them with employment opportunities in the retail industry.
