Cool Roof

Mahila Housing Trust, an organisation dedicated to assisting women at the grassroots level, is using cool roof technology to help them escape the heat in Ahmedabad. This initiative has made over 20,000 homes cooler and more comfortable during the heatwave.

As part of a pilot project, the state government laid white membranes on the rooftops of over 60 houses in Devarkonda Basthi in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. The results have been positive so far.
