Passengers need not put up with improper facilities and amenities aboard the national carrier anymore!

Even in well-developed cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru, driving on good quality roads for long stretches or walking on well-maintained footpaths seems almost like a myth.

The suggestion of adding a ‘service captain’, identifiable by uniform, in trains to address problems of passengers was made by a committee of senior officers formed by railway minister Piyush Goyal - after meeting with all zonal heads in December last year.

The provision will allow the public to anonymously file complaints of illegal activities like tree felling, poaching and other violations.
