Devareddy and his friend were enjoying a stroll on MG road when they heard a woman scream. As they turned to look at her, they saw a man holding a gold chain and a dagger, running away.

The incident had occurred on Thursday afternoon last week when the bus was heading towards the Kollam jetty from Alappuzha’s KSRTC depot.

A salesperson at a private establishment, the 28-year-old had been returning home from work on her two-wheeler in the evening when the incident occurred.
