Furthermore, to ease the examination process and maintain social distancing norms, the board has added 10,000 new centres to the existing 3,000 examination centres across the country.
As of now, CBSE has decided not to hold the board examination for students in foreign countries. However, this could be revisited since many students and parents have expressed their reservation with this decision.
Along with the CBSE and ICSE board exams, JEE Main, which was scheduled to be held between 5 to 11 April, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak
“A single examination cannot decide the fate of a student and no one should be declared ‘failed’ as it has a negative impact on mental health and may lead to depression,” said Controller Sanyam Bharadwaj.

Since students can now appear for this examination twice, the better of the two scores will be used for the purpose of ranking as per the regulations laid by the authorities.
