To kickstart the project, BMTC officials have requested a budget of Rs 2.25 crore from the Centre under the Nirbhaya fund.

Their staff go door to door and educate people on the many processes to follow to keep their babies healthy, on the importance of breastfeeding their children, and the negative consequences of the superstitions and misconceptions.

Breastfeeding is natural, and more importantly, it provides vital nutrition and nourishment for a newborn. But what many people forget is that it is also extremely difficult and that breastfeeding mothers need all the support they can get.
