A group of alert citizens in Mumbai has developed an app to help people report potholes on the roads. They are now trying to work with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) so that the authorities can find and fill these potholes.
If you happen to visit the MIDC colony located in Mumbai’s Andheri East region sometime in the evening, a pleasant sight will welcome you – a lush green garden with about 100 different varieties of trees, people enjoying their evening walks, and children playing in a football court.
Slum dwellers in Mumbai can now construct toilets in their homes, thanks to the recent orders issued by BMC. Constructing toilets in these slums was considered illegal until now.
Urmi Foundation, with its goal of supporting children with developmental disabilities living in the slums of Mumbai, is doing some inspiring work. Thanks to the foundation, many of these children are gaining the education that they rightfully deserve.
