Bayer CropScience Limited is working with small and marginal farmers by helping them become self-reliant, build scale and increase profit by forming Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs).

From spreading awareness and sensitizing farmers, monitoring fields for rescue, initiating a contractual ban on child labour, incentivising those who refrained from it to implementing penalties upon violation, Bayer's Child Care Program (CCP) has been tackling the problem of child labour with a multi-layered approach.

Rajesh Singh, an electronics engineer, was not ready to accept the idea that farming is a backward occupation. For him, doing something different was not by getting a job in the city but by changing the outlook towards agriculture.

“I remember toiling in the fields barefoot, using my hands to spread the insecticides and pesticides. I could never dream of affording any technology. But those days are gone."
