A two-kilometre stretch of Sarswati river is sewage free with thriving aquatic life all thanks to the stellar efforts of Indore Municipal Commissioner, Asheesh Singh.

The Better India (TBI) spoke to Asheesh Singh (IAS, 2010 batch/Madhya Pradesh Cadre), the Municipal Commissioner of Indore, about the responsibilities he carries out on any given day.

"We operated this machinery in two shifts and completed the work in six months. Interestingly, we spent less than Rs 10 crore in the entire process!”
