The Supreme Court has decided to extend the mandatory linking of Aadhaar with services until the Constitutional Bench passes its judgement.

To facilitate this Aadhaar-mobile linking for users, especially senior citizens, the government is trying to come up with alternate solutions - including proxy authorisation.

The UIDAI is allowing Aadhaar card holders to place requests to update details including the registered address, name, date of birth, mobile and email address.

Launched by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights and NGO Save the Children, the project aims to cover five states in two years.
