2016 Paralympics

Mariyappan Thangavelu bagged India’s first gold medal in 12 years on the second day of 2016 Paralympic Games. He won the men’s T42 high jump event by jumping 1.89 m and made history -- becoming the first Indian high jumper to win a Paralympics gold.
