“My garden expanded after I moved to IISc Bengaluru for my PhD. My hostel room housed nearly 30 plants then, as well as a little kitchen garden in my lab. Research work in itself is very cumbersome, and my garden provided me solace at the end of a tiring day,” she shares.

The course is open for government officials, faculty members of UGC/AICTE approved universities and their affiliated colleges.

“Some people in my social circle have started avoiding me because scientific research goes against what they want to believe. But others are keen on my updates. Both indicate that people are engaging. That is a good sign for us."

"Science cannot be taught in isolation. Science cannot be taught at school without knowing the kind of lives my students are living," says retired IIT-Kanpur Professor H C Verma.

“We want to know how the universe evolved, how we came to this earth and what is our purpose. In fact, some of the chemicals including iron, carbon, that are found in our body can be made only in the interiors of stars,” says Dr Vithal Tilvi.
