As a Nutritionist, the most common question I am asked is about protein intake. “Am I getting enough protein?"

"If their kids fall sick, the impoverished families do not visit even a government hospital. They fear that if they skip work for the hospital visit, they would lose the day’s wages and the entire family has to go hungry."

Arun Agarwal’s smart technology has been deployed in 115 hospitals and has monitored over 25000 women across India.

“What motivated me to begin this organisation was the widespread lack of understanding about basic concepts like personal hygiene and first aid responses amongst villagers. To improve the situation, I started Shri Sahayataa which provided villagers with a personalised primary healthcare kit and education about the essential concepts such as first aid and hygiene etc,” shares Rohan.

“A usual cough should ideally subsides either with or without medicines within a week to maximum two weeks. In case you find that even after that the cough persists you should get a medical practitioner to check it.”

In fact, during a recent official visit to inspect the conditions of the block hospital, Akanksha found the designated doctor absent for some reason and attended to the waiting patients herself! #IAS #Inspiration

Eager to contribute to cardiac care in India, Dr Cherian took the hard call to refuse lucrative job offers at the University of Cincinnati and the Lahey Clinic in the US, as well as permanent residency in the US and Australia to return to India on 6 June 1975.
