From a life-changing accident and depression to self-doubt and suicidal thoughts, Inshah’s life has been nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. But every time one door shut, the courageous girl looked for another one.

“A little research revealed that every year over 40,000 people in India lose their upper arms, and 85 per cent of them continue to live without any solution. And, the majority come from economically underprivileged sections."

The inspiration to do so stemmed from a near-death experience, the resultant trauma and a life-changing realisation.

“We were shocked to realise that even well-educated visually-challenged adults would not have a clear idea of maps - we wanted to go a step higher than that."

Kavitha has made it her life’s mission to spread awareness on Down Syndrome. It really is just an extra chromosome, after all.

From being abandoned as a four-year-old to being injured during the race itself, they didn’t let any hurdles stop them.

“I have modified everything from a Nano to a Mercedes. The car doesn’t matter to me — what matters is the person driving it,” says the National Award winner, Rajesh Sharma.

Dr Anita Sharma called about 2000 driving schools across India asking if they give lessons to the differently-abled. Disappointed by their answers, she decided to change the status quo herself!
