For Sir M. Visvesvaraya’s innumerable services to society, September 15 is celebrated as Engineer’s Day. And in a great tribute to him, a rejuvenation of sorts is happening now in his hometown, Muddenahalli.
IAS officer Ramesh Gholap has rescued at least 35 kids working in garages/hotels, sent them to schools, and provided them with a monthly income through government schemes.
“Since childhood, I have aimed to become a doctor so that I could help other people. But, as I grew up, I realised that to help people, I need to educate them and provide them with better opportunities.”
