While in college, he joined Shiamak Davar’s dance group, seizing his first acting break in an unusual place — while waiting outside a washroom!

Starting with television roles, he was paid a modest sum of Rs 6,000 per episode. Despite the meagre pay and industry challenges, he remained steadfast in his pursuit of success. “My self-confidence was stronger than the industry’s power play,” he once said.

Initially cast in sidekick roles, Vikrant refused to be pigeonholed. He worked tirelessly to break through the stereotypes, proving his mettle with every project. His breakthrough role as Bablu Pandit in Mirzapur cemented his status as a versatile actor, while critically acclaimed films such as A Death in the Gunj and Haseen Dillruba showcased his ability to bring complex characters to life.
