In September 2020, a tiny, premature calf was pulled from the raging waters of the Torsha River, barely clinging to life.

Rescued by the dedicated team at Kodalbasti Range, the calf—named Beer—was just days old, weak and alone, facing an uncertain future without his mother or herd.

The Kodalbasti Range team stepped in, providing Beer with the care he desperately needed. Nourished with lactogen milk, fruits, and eventually solid foods, Beer gradually regained his strength.

Cheron Subba, a park staff member, played a pivotal role in Beer's recovery, even sleeping beside him for the first four months.

Today, four years later, Beer is a thriving member of the Jaldapara National Park family.

This heartwarming story, shared by IFS Parveen Kaswan on X, along with a touching video, highlights the dedication and compassion of the Jaldapara National Park team.

Kudos to the entire team!
