When Pushpa brought Mushrooms to her village in Darbhanga, most people didn’t even know they were food. She didn’t wait for perfect land or perfect timing. She cleared space under her bed and began growing them there. Quietly, carefully, and with full belief in what could be possible.
To get people curious, she handed out Mushrooms for free. One taste led to another. Slowly, interest grew. So did a movement. Pushpa started training other women. What began with a few learners has now reached more than 20,000 women across Bihar.
Today, mushroom cultivation is creating additional livelihoods, confidence, and community. And it all began in one room, with one woman who decided to grow something new.
