Trapped behind glass, confused and scared — but not alone.

An Asian Koel found itself stuck on a balcony in Vasant Vihar, Delhi, unable to escape the transparent barrier that tricked its instincts. Disoriented and distressed, it kept flying into the glass, not knowing freedom was just inches away.

Thankfully, a quick-thinking local didn’t ignore the signs. One call to Wildlife SOS’s emergency helpline, and their Rapid Response Unit was on the scene.

Their team gently rescued the koel, gave it a thorough health check to make sure it wasn’t injured, and once cleared, set it free back into the wild where it belongs.

This is a reminder that even in the heart of our cities, wildlife needs our empathy. A small action can save a life.
