Every year, in a breathtaking display of nature’s rhythm, thousands of Olive Ridley sea turtles return to Odisha’s shores for their mass nesting event, known as Arribada — a Spanish word meaning 'arrival'.

This year, breaking all records, over 7 lakh turtles have arrived at the Rushikulya rookery, transforming the beach into a sea of life.

This synchronised nesting, a rare phenomenon observed in only a few places worldwide, underscores the delicate balance of marine ecosystems.
