At 89, Padma Parikh became an entrepreneur, selling her handmade crochet to people in 10 countries.
It all started during the COVID-19 lockdown, when Padma’s granddaughters, Bansari and Heer, decided to showcase their nani's amazing crochet skills.
Launching her online business, they set up a page and started posting pictures of Padma’s handicrafts.
Slowly, the orders started flowing in.
Today, Padma crochets for 3-4 hours every day, even though she can only see well with one eye.
She also models for her products herself!
The business has brought financial freedom for Padma,
But for her, it is more about keeping herself busy.
She says, “When I engage myself in work, I do not overthink and I do not get tired. That's because I do it out of passion.”
Kudos to her for showing that it is never too late to follow our passion!
