The Ocean May Hold India’s Next Energy Source

What if India’s next big fuel source didn’t need land, fertiliser, or even freshwater?

In 2010, four IIT Madras graduates took a bet on seaweed, a fast-growing underwater plant, and launched Sea6 Energy. Today, they’re building machines to farm it in deep waters, turning it into biocrude, and working to make it cost-competitive with fossil fuels.
