Techie Converts Barren Lands into Forest

He single-handedly transformed 25 acres of barren land into a thriving forest!

Meet G Srikanth from Vellore, a techie-turned-ecowarrior who has planted over 15,000 trees across Vellore, Creating THREE forests!

Srikanth had always dreamt of increasing his hometown’s green cover
and began by planting 1,000 saplings in a barren wasteland on the banks of the Palar river.

But his afforestation drive met strong opposition by the local land mafia who wanted it for a sand quarry.

But Srikanth didn’t give up.

Witnessing his incredible effort, the district collector gave him more barren land to convert into a social forest.

Today, that land has come alive with 7,500 trees, and become a home to several animals and birds.

But Srikanth is not done yet.
His next aim?
To create social forests across Tamil Nadu!
