When Swati saw the women in her village struggling with access to safe and affordable menstrual products, she didn’t wait for a solution—she created one. She started making sanitary pads herself, and soon, what began as a small effort grew into Sakhi, a women-led manufacturing unit that now provides jobs to many.
But Swati didn’t stop there. She and her team even built their own pad incinerator to ensure proper disposal, tackling both hygiene and environmental concerns. Through Sakhi, Swati isn’t just making pads—she’s creating livelihoods, breaking taboos, and changing lives.
