Looking to start rainwater harvesting but setting up a system seems daunting? This video from @forestgardenmicrofarmsindia on Instagram showcases how drainage cells can be a simple solution!

Drainage cells are a fantastic alternative to covering walkways with traditional materials like concrete, tiles, marble, or granite, which create surface runoff, sending valuable rainwater into drains.

These lightweight, modular plastic structures with a honeycomb-like network come in various sizes and strengths for different applications.

The open structure of drainage cells allows collected rainwater to infiltrate the ground below much quicker. Some sections of the walkway can be transformed into a porous surface by placing drainage cells on a layer of stone (crushed rock) and sand.

This allows rainwater to percolate through the walkway and recharge groundwater reserves, a precious resource!
