Morena's Dharamveer Pal has to use his hands to walk, But his disability never stopped him from pursuing his love for cricket!
Diagnosed with polio as an infant, Dharamveer suffers from severe muscle paresis and skeletal deformities.
He was just 11 when he decided to watch a cricket match, live in Mohali.
What he lacked in physical strength, he made up for it with his determination.
Boarding a train with no money or food, he reached Mohali 3 days before the match.
While waiting outside with the hope that someone would give him a ticket,
he was noticed by a pitch inspector, who took him in and made him an honorary ballboy – something he did for the next 12 years!
Over the years, Dharamveer has travelled with the Men in Blue on several home and away tours as their unofficial mascot.
He was invited by MS Dhoni to play football with the team and gifted a jersey by Virat Kohli after his 100th Test match.
Also the captain of the Madhya Pradesh Divyang Cricket Team, Dharamveer has come a long way indeed!
