For 10 years, 88-YO Inderjit Singh Sidhu has cleaned Chandigarh’s streets—voluntarily.

A retired cop, he now borrows sanitation carts, sweeps roads, and clears drains at 6 AM every day.

Mocked at first, he stayed true to his mission: “Cleanliness is next to godliness.”
Today, he’s earned national praise—even from Anand Mahindra: “Purpose doesn’t retire. Service doesn’t age.”

A true hero in uniform, and now, in spirit.
