It has been less than a month since Mumbai Police created an account on Twitter, and they are already in the limelight. Twitterati love them for their witty tweets, the brilliant puns, and the genius way in which they are spreading awareness. They have more than 20,000 followers already, and are using these numbers to share public service messages addressing issues like road safety, drug use, and cybercrime, with a collection of amusing tweets.
A team of six people is behind these tweets, including four professionals from a private digital media agency named Trivone, a former crime journalist Sunchika Pandey, and Commissioner of Police Ahmed Javed. According to Scroll.in, a lot of humour on the Twitter handle comes from the Commissioner himself who leads the team and works on approving all the content.
