Watch: An Auto Driver & His Wife Turned Their Vehicle into a Thriving Garden on Wheels

We’ve all heard of indoor gardens, terrace gardens and vertical gardens to save space but have you ever seen a garden in a moving vehicle? 

In Pune, a unique and inspiring initiative is taking root within the city's bustling streets.

Ganesh Nanekar, a 46-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, has been planting and nurturing a garden inside his auto-rickshaw for the past year.

“Both my wife and I are fond of gardening. Together, we have integrated 18 planters in the auto,” he says. 

He started using PVC pipes and water pipes as planters but they took too much space. He then started making custom planters and iron stands, allowing him to plant more! 

From mogras, roses to money plants, you name it, and the auto-rickshaw has it all. While cities are turning into concrete jungles, this man is doing his most to keep his little auto green.

These efforts have been a hit among customers. “They love the effort and also say that there is a cool breeze in the auto-rickshaw,” he informs. 

So next time you see an auto-rickshaw with plants, it's probably Ganesh’s green vehicle!
