Sendhwa in Barwani district saw a mass wedding on June 19th. Mass weddings are not that novel anymore with more and more people realizing that the frivolities associated with marriages are not necessary.
However, this mass wedding was a little different as each of the 15 couples had at least one specially-abled partner tying the knot.

The mass wedding happened under the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana. Antar Singh Arya, the Minister for labour, backward classes and minorities welfare was also present at the occasion and blessed the couples.
Additionally, every couple was gifted a fixed deposit of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7000 for household expenses and goods worth Rs. 5000 under the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana.
Various social organizations presented household items and cash as gifts to the newly-weds. There was also an announcement of cash stipends worth Rs. 1.5 lakhs for the couples. We wish each one of them a happily married life.
