The service, which is scheduled to commence on      December 23, will be inaugurated at 11 am, by              Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan, in Neeleshwaram, according to Collector K Jeevanbabu, in a press conference on Tuesday.

The Collector told The Hindu that the online service was put in place to inform people about government-initiated schemes in advance. Usually, people learn about such schemes from newspapers. The online radio will facilitate quicker dissemination of valuable information.

On visiting the site, and clicking the speaker icon, you are immediately greeted in fluent Malayalam. The voice then goes on to talk about Kasargod, providing information, like its location, demography, and other vital facts.
