This Lakeika Saved a Bengaluru Lake

Meet Usha Rajagopalan, who transformed Bengaluru’s dying Puttenahalli Lake into a green oasis. Under her leadership, the community came together—forming a trust, planting trees, and organizing clean-ups. Thanks to Usha, the lake now boasts 120+ bird species, 500+ trees, and clean, clear water.
“Every single lake or pond, irrespective of its size, needs to be saved because our future depends on clean air and clean water.”she says.
