In 2017, a couple took a bold leap of faith, leaving behind their corporate careers to pursue their passion for nature and hospitality.

Amit Kumar Srivastava and Shipra Mohan Sinha embarked on a journey that transformed their lives as well as the community around them. Here’s their inspiring story.

Amidst the bustling chaos of Delhi, Amit confided in Shipra, “I can’t do this anymore. I’m resigning.” Shipra nodded, “Let’s do it.” Together, they decided to follow their dreams and create something meaningful.

The idea for their cafe sparked during Amit’s hiking trip to Tungnath, where a local mentioned an idle mule shed in Devikhal.

In 2013, they transformed that shed into the Lansdowne Trip Travel Cafe, starting with just green tea and sandwiches.

The cafe faced challenges, seeing no visitors for the first six months. They brought on a young team to help them grow.

Introducing continental dishes like pizzas and pastas, they created a unique experience that attracted both locals and tourists.

In 2017, they relocated to Lansdowne, seeking a serene and unique café experience surrounded by nature.

The café empowers local women by selling their handcrafted items, providing them with a sustainable income.

Sustainability is a core value; they serve water in glass bottles and manage waste effectively to protect the environment.

Amit and Shipra nurture local flora and create habitats for wildlife, ensuring a balanced ecosystem in the area.

They lead eco-tours to hidden gems, connecting guests with nature and local culture for an authentic experience.

Leaving behind lucrative jobs was the right choice. “Our shared passion drives us,” Shipra says, fulfilling their dream together.
