At 71, This Retired Officer Is  Changing Lives  in Ahmedabad with  Interest-Free Loans

At 71, Ahmedabad’s Pankaj Chimanlal Seth didn’t let retirement stop him. After 35 years as a Class-2 officer, he chose to dedicate his time to helping those in need.

“I didn’t want to sit idle,” says Pankaj. In 2013, he founded the Give Forever Foundation, focusing on supporting families, children, and senior citizens facing hardship.

To understand how he could make the most impact, he connected with NGOs and created a form to collect details about those in need of food and essentials.

During festivals, he distributes special items — chickpeas and dates for Holi, dry fruits and sweets at Diwali, and blankets and cakes at Christmas.

From cultural programmes to amusement park visits, he ensures underprivileged children and seniors experience the happiness they deserve.

His Swa-Rojgar Sahay Yojna provides interest-free loans to underprivileged people, helping them start small businesses and achieve financial independence.

“People need more than charity, they need opportunities to grow in life,” he explains, highlighting the success of his business loan initiative.

Pankaj personally supports and guides loan recipients, ensuring they don’t feel burdened by repayments. If needed, he even covers payments from his savings.

Although he manages the foundation alone, he collaborates with NGOs like Jeevantirth and Make a Difference to educate and uplift children from slums.

Looking forward, he hopes to expand the Swa-Rojgar Sahay Yojna, helping small businesses grow through better marketing strategies and stronger customer bases.
