UPSC Isn’t the End: This New Platform Is Giving UPSC Aspirants a Powerful Plan B

By Raajwrita Dutta 24 June 2025

Only 1,000 make it out of 10 lakh UPSC applicants each year. But what about the thousands who gave it everything and just missed the final cut?

You gave it your all, your 20s, your sleep, and your peace of mind. You reached the interview, but did not make the list. You still deserve dignity and direction.

With a success rate of just 0.1%, UPSC is more than tough, it is a one-way street for many. But the journey does not have to end at the result.

Years of effort and knowledge often go unseen. But this year, a new path opens for those who came close, introducing UPSC’s Pratibha Setu.

Built on the 2018 Public Disclosure Scheme, Pratibha Setu now hosts 10,000+ profiles of candidates who reached the interview stage.

It includes top candidates from the Civil Services, ESE, IFS, IES/ISS, CDS, CAPF, and Medical Services. (NDA, NA, CBI/DSP exams are not included.)

Only those who opt in are listed. No profile is shared without the candidate’s clear and explicit consent.

Now linked to the National Career Service portal, employers can hire directly from this pool of exceptional talent.

Recruiters get tools like dashboards, wishlists, and shortlists, making the hiring process efficient and respectful.

Maybe UPSC was not the destination. It was a journey that shaped you for teaching, policy, research, entrepreneurship, or something greater.

You did not fail the exam. The system just found a better way to recognise your potential, and this is your next chapter.
