With Just Rs 245, Send a Period Kit to a Woman in Conflict-Hit Poonch

When conflict strikes, we see the headlines: homes destroyed, lives lost. But there's a quieter crisis that’s rarely spoken about — menstrual hygiene.

Amid this, two organisations — Pad Squad and Fabpad — launched ‘Together for Poonch’ to support 5,000 women with safe, sustainable period kits.

“Stories of people being displaced broke my heart,” says Monica Raheja, co-founder of Pad Squad. “I knew we had to do something.”

Since 2020, Pad Squad has delivered 20 lakh menstrual products to flood-hit areas, tribal belts, and urban bastis — all with a network of 70+ volunteers.

Fabpad, based in Kolkata, makes reusable cloth pads and supports women’s livelihoods. It has helped 20,000+ women since 2020.

The pads last up to four years or 100 washes. They’re eco-friendly, cost-effective, and ideal for conflict zones where disposal is a challenge.

Neither Pad Squad nor Fabpad takes a cut. In fact, for every 25 kits donated, Fabpad adds one more — free of cost.
