1. Balli Lane If uncompromised flavour and authenticity are on your checklist of paratha binging, Delhi’s foodies suggest Balli Lane near Amity University.

The parathas here come in numerous flavours and fillings. But we hear the quintessential aloo paratha with butter dribbling down the sides is the winner.

2. Pandit Ji Parantha Hut Sharing why the parathas here are so unique, food bloggers point to the griddle (tawa) which is way heavier than usual. This is the secret behind the parathas being beautifully cooked.

3. Moolchand Parantha The 49-year-old justifiably legendary eatery is part of the city’s social fabric. People flock here for hot, crispy aloo pyaaz paratha with a generous dollop of butter and spicy pickles. Actor Shah Rukh Khan, too, is said to have feasted on the parathas here during his Delhi days.

4. Pt Gaya Prashad Shiv Charan Touted as the oldest paratha shop in Delhi, this spot in Paranthe Wali Gali offers mouthwatering spins on the usual favourites; mint-stuffed parathas, radish and potato parathas, and papad parathas.

5. Shaheen Bagh 40 Foota Road A crowd-puller here is the chicken Lahori paratha, stuffed with minced chicken, cooked in a tandoor (clay oven) with butter cubes, and served with chutney.

Other favourites in the lane are the nalli nihari (meat cooked in a thick, spicy gravy), Afghani chicken samosa, chicken kathi rolls, and Turkish kebab.

6. Dadu Cutlet Shop One of the oldest eateries in C R Park, Dadu Cutlet Shop is a household name. A failsafe order here is the Mughlai paratha with egg.

7. Kake Di Hatti Here’s an eatery that has been doing justice to the paratha since 1942. Whether it’s the hariyali paratha (paratha prepared with greens), aloo pyaaz paratha, garlic paratha, paneer paratha, or the pliable naan, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
