How Indore Is Giving a Second Life to Things People Usually  Throw Away

2 June 2025

India's cleanest city, Indore, has found a way to give old, unused goods a new life through an unique initiative-- an RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Center.

Indore's first RRR centre aims to encourage the practice of following 3Rs while helping people in need. Got something you don’t need? Drop it off! Need something new? Pick it up!

From repairing furniture to revamping clothes, the RRR Center creatively reuses and repurposes what’s donated, turning waste into valuable resources.

With its RRR Center, Indore is taking sustainability to the next level, creating a circular model for other cities to follow.

And the impact is happening. Similar centres are now opening in Bhopal, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Thane, Ghaziabad and even in northeast India.

We love how the RRR Center makes it easy for citizens to participate in the circular economy. Should this be implemented in every city of India?
