Meghalaya’s waterfalls roar to life in the monsoon. From hidden turquoise pools to India’s tallest plunge, here are 10 waterfalls that are at their most spectacular when it rains.

Located near Cherrapunji, this is India’s tallest plunge waterfall at 340 metres, surrounded by misty cliffs and lush green hills. Best time to visit: June to September

Seven streams plunge down a 315-metre limestone cliff in Cherrapunji’s Mawsmai area — visible only during heavy monsoon rain. Best time to visit: July to September
