This Indian CEO Collapsed With BP 230.  Now He’s Urging Others to Listen to Their Bodies

Amit Mishra, the CEO and founder of a media company, shared a post on LinkedIn describing how he learned the hard way that “work is important, but health is non-negotiable.”

Mishra was working on his laptop one day when he suddenly suffered a severe nosebleed that refused to stop.

Rushing to the hospital, he was admitted to the ICU - the doctors found that his blood pressure (BP) had shot up to 230.

Misra wrote that he had “no headaches, no dizziness, no warnings, no history of BP” but still landed in this “unexpected crisis.”

What happened next was even more puzzling; his BP dropped drastically the next day. Even after 15+ tests, the doctors are still figuring out what had happened.

Still undergoing treatment, Amit shared his story as a wake-up call for anyone rushing to meet deadlines while ignoring their health.

He also shared some important lessons: Your body doesn’t always give clear warnings. High BP, stress, and health risks can be silent killers. Regular checkups are a must.

Your career matters, but it means nothing without your health. We often ignore small signs, thinking we’re fine until we’re not. So take that break. Get the checkup. Sleep a little more.

Emergency preparedness matters. Knowing what to do in a crisis, who to contact and where the nearest hospital is can save lives.

If this made you pause, maybe it’s time to prioritise what truly matters. When was the last time you really listened to your body?
