Locals call it: Malarikkal Aambal Vasantham

Meaning Water Lily Spring, this seasonal bloom transforms the region into a surreal floral canvas — misty mornings, still waters, and pink everywhere you look.

It’s also Kerala’s most Instagrammable secret

Captured beautifully by Abhideep Pradeep [@mallu_nomad], the early blooms this year are already making waves on social media.

Thinking of visiting?

The early bloom has already passed, thanks to June showers. What’s visible now is only a teaser. Locals say the real magic begins mid-July, when both sides of the 1.5 km stretch burst into full bloom.

The real bloom is yet to come

Locals say the grand show begins when both sides of the 1.5 km stretch at J Block 9000 fields are blanketed in pink.

Best time to visit? Mid-July onwards

If you want to see Malarikkal at its most magical, plan your trip after July 15. That’s when the bloom is expected to peak.

Add it to your monsoon travel list

Each season, Malarikkal’s pink fields remind us how nature transforms — suddenly, completely, and for those who are paying attention.
